Julie Brousseau

Biography

Julie Brousseau won three medals at the Santiago 2023 Pan Am Games, including gold in the women’s 400m individual medley. She also swam in the heats for the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay that won gold and helped the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay win bronze.

The month prior, Brousseau had won seven medals at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships. That included three individual medals – silver in the women’s 200m freestyle and bronze in the women’s 200m and 400m individual medleys. Brousseau had qualified for the world junior and Pan Am Games teams with her top-five finishes in the 200m IM, 400m IM, and 200m freestyle at the 2023 Canadian Swimming Trials.

Brousseau had previously represented Canada at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacific Championships where she was a finalist in the 200m breaststroke. She competed in her first Swimming World Cup events in October 2022.

Brousseau won 11 medals at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, tying the record for most medals won at a single Canada Games. Her haul included four gold and two bronze in individual events as well as two gold, one silver, and two bronze in relays.
