Katrina Bellio
Biography
Katrina Bellio beat her personal best in the women’s 1500m freestyle by five seconds at the Canadian Olympic Trials to go under the qualifying time and earn her ticket to Tokyo 2020 where the event made its Olympic debut. In her first Olympic appearance, she dropped her personal best in the 1500m freestyle by another five seconds.
Bellio had previously represented Canada at the 2019 FINA World Junior Championships where she won a bronze medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay. She was also a finalist in the 200m freestyle.

Getting into the Sport: Started swimming competitively at age 7… Outside Interests: Would like to become a dentist… Enjoys reading, sketching, painting… Verbally committed to UCLA for the fall of 2022… Odds and Ends: Inspired by Canadian Olympic medallist Brittany MacLean because of her work ethic and dedication to the sport… Favourite motto: “Do today what others won’t, so tomorrow you can do what they can’t”… Like to trade caps with her international competitors…
