Laura Hall
Biography
Laura Hall is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. Her brother, Daniel Hall, will also be a member of Canada’s long track speed skating team at the Games. They will become second generation Olympians, following their father Michael, who competed in long track speed skating for Canada at Lillehammer 1994.
Hall competed at her first ISU World Single Distances Championships in 2025. She has represented Canada at three ISU Four Continents Championships (2022, 2024, 2025), highlighted by silver medals in the 3000m and team pursuit in 2022.
Hall debuted on the ISU World Cup circuit in December 2022. She raced in the A Division at a World Cup for the first time in November 2023. Hall’s first represented Canada at a multi-sport competition was at the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Winter Games, where she won gold in the 3000m. She was Canada’s first ever gold medallist in a women’s speed skating event at the World University Games.
Hall made her international debut on the ISU Junior World Cup circuit in 2020. She then competed at the 2020 ISU World Junior Championships, earning top 20 results in the 3000m and mass start. Hall represented Team BC at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
