Sarah Orban

Sarah Orban won team sprint bronze at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games alongside Jackie Boyle and Emy Savard. She also reached the quarterfinals of the individual sprint and finished sixth overall. At the 2023 Pan American Championships a few months earlier, she won silver in the team sprint alongside Boyle and Lauriane Genest.

In 2022, Orban, Genest and Kelsey Mitchell had won gold in the team sprint at the Pan American Championships. That was right on the heels of their silver medal in the team sprint at the 2022 Commonwealth Games where Orban also made the sprint quarterfinals.

Orban has competed at four straight UCI World Track Championships since making her debut in 2020. She has been a part of three straight top-eight finishes in the team sprint.

Orban also made her UCI Nations Cup debut in 2020. She earned her first medals on the circuit – bronze in team sprint and sprint – in September 2021 in Cali, Colombia. She has six career Nations Cup podiums, including a double silver performance in Milton, Ontario in 2023.

Orban was identified for track cycling after winning the 2017 Alberta Regional Final of RBC Training Ground. She trained in a fast track development program for a year and a half before being named to the national team. Orban had been a varsity soccer player and track and field athlete at the University of Lethbridge.
