Biography

• Won team sprint bronze at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games
• Won team sprint silver at the 2023 Pan American Championships
• Won team sprint gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games
• Competed at her first UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2020
• Was identified for track cycling after winning the 2017 Alberta Regional Final of RBC Training Ground; trained in a fast track development program for a year and a half before being named to the national team; had been a varsity soccer player and track and field athlete at the University of Lethbridge  

A Little More About Sarah

Getting into the Sport: First tried track cycling on a velodrome at age 21 and started fulltime training at 22… Entered her first track cycling competition in June 2018… Had never owned a bike before becoming a track cyclist… Outside Interests: Loves to read, bake, cook and play golf… Would like to pursue a career as a sport psychologist… Graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology… Odds and Ends: Has dreamed of representing Canada at the Olympics since watching gymnastics on TV during Beijing 2008, knew she just needed to find the right sport… Favourite quote: “Champions aren’t made in gyms.
