Shilo Rousseau

Biography

Shilo Rousseau is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. She competed at her first senior IBU World Championships in 2025 as a member of the women’s relay team that placed 20th.

Rousseau won three medals at the 2023 FISU World University Games, taking gold in the 10km pursuit and 12.5km short individual races as well as a silver medal in the 7.5km sprint.

She debuted on the IBU World Cup circuit during the 2024-25 season. She hit career highs in Ruhpolding, Germany in January 2026 when she finished 21st in the pursuit and 26th in the sprint.

As a member of the national development team, Rousseau competed at the 2022 IBU Junior World Championships, earning top 50 results in the sprint and pursuit and helping the relay team to a top eight finish. She raced at three editions of the IBU Youth World Championships (2017, 2018, 2019), highlighted by a top 25 showing in the pursuit in 2019.

Getting into the Sport: Started skiing at age 10 and began doing biathlon at age 12… Began by skiing around her backyard and shooting at targets with an air rifle… Father Yves competed at multiple biathlon world championships in the 1980s; an ankle injury ended his career before he could become an Olympian at Calgary 1988… Outside Interests: Graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2024… Pursuing a Master’s in cellular and molecular medicine at the University of Ottawa…
