Montreal to Host Canadian Olympic, Paralympic Team Parade on April 23

More than 150 Athletes Will Make it a Day to Remember

The Olympic celebration from Vancouver is being reprised five provinces to the East at the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Team Parade on Friday, April 23.

Presented by the City of Montreal and the Government of Canada, in partnership with Chevrolet and RONA, more than 150 of Canada’s 2010 athletes will roll through downtown Montreal. Starting at 11:30 a.m., there is no better way to spend a lunch hour than cheering on the same athletes you watched on television reach new heights against the world’s best.

The parade, filled with floats and athletes, begins along Sainte-Catherine Street between Du Fort and Union. It concludes with a huge celebration in Phillips Square at 1:30 p.m. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cheer on more than 150 Olympians and Paralympians, including those who captured bronze, silver and gold medals.

The list of 2010 athletes includes Alex Bilodeau, Joannie Rochette, Brian McKeever, Lauren Woolstencroft, Jasey-Jay Anderson, Michael Robertson, Hayley Wickenheiser, Denny Morrison, Charles Hamelin, Marianne St-Gelais, Maëlle Ricker, Jenn Heil, Ashleigh McIvor, Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir, Kaillie Humphries, Helen Upperton and Cheryl Bernard. But that is only the tip of the iceberg!

The parade leads a day that features the 2010 Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala, taking place at the Bell Centre later that evening.
