Bobsleigh Canada Athletes slide into a Twitter Frenzy

Bobsleigh Canada Athletes slide into a Twitter Frenzy

By Jessica Sammut

Thirty centimeters of snow didn’t stop the Olympic bobsleigh athletes from making it to Montreal yesterday for the Bobsleigh Canada Sochi Team announcement. See how the day unfolded through the tweets of our athletes.

The morning started off with blue skies over the city

The team was ready to go, with bobsleigh pilot Christopher Spring taking the wheel from Lake Placid to Montreal. We caught up with Christopher later who was just as surprised as we were that the team let him (the Australian) drive!

Guess we weren’t the only ones who had trouble finding the venue

Meanwhile, some were more concerned with prepping for their speech

Inspiring speech from Crewman Cody Sorensen

Congrats to all the athletes!

2016 Rio

History will be made in 2016 when Rio de Janeiro, Brazil hosts the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, marking the first time that a South American country will welcome the world to an Olympic Games. It is also just the third time that the Games will be held in the southern hemisphere, following Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000.
