It’s quite possible that when the women’s Olympic beach volleyball tournament begins in Rio on August 7, Canada will have two teams competing for the first time ever.

One of those teams could be the pairing of Heather Bansley and Sarah Pavan, who were also part of the Ice In Our Veins video that has Canadians talking Rio 2016. In the above video are some behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with Bansley/Pavan.

Currently Bansley/Pavan are fifth in the Olympic provisional rankings. Another Canadian women’s beach team – Jamie Broder and Kristina Valjas – is ranked 11th in the world. Both duos are within the 16-team qualification range ahead of the June 13 deadline.

Recently, Broder and Valjas took part in the unveiling of the 2016 Team Canada Olympic Collection by Hudson’s Bay.
