Athletes’ Moms and Dads Thanked for Giving Their Everything

The Canadian Olympic Committee and Procter & Gamble hosted a High Tea at Canada Olympic House to recognize parents for giving their everything in raising Olympian athletes.
“We have collaborated with the Canadian Olympic Committee to create the best possible home away from home to thank the unsung heroes of the Olympic Games – the Moms and Dads,” said David Grisim, Associate Marketing Director at Procter & Gamble.
COH guests have access to several services offered by P&G throughout the Games including a beauty and grooming salon, Tide laundry service, and Crest ‘Smile Centre’ photobooth.
This is the first time that this type of program has been offered to family and friends of Canadian Olympic athletes.
Several parents attended the event, including Beata Bokrossy (mother of Adam van Koeverden ), Patrisha Reader (mother of Martin Reader), and guest speaker Christiane Despatie (mother of Alexandre Despatie), who thanked P&G and the COC for their efforts in making family and friends really feel at home at Canada Olympic House.
Patrisha Reader expressed her pride for son Martin and beach vollyeball partner Josh Binstock’s win over Great Britain on Day 1 of London 2012.
