Canada Olympic House closes doors with a bang

It ended with a bang.

Canadians convened at Canada Olympic House in Trafalgar Square for one last time to watch the London 2012 Closing Ceremony.

Olympians and volunteers, young and old, bearing our beloved Maple Leaf on their shirts, hats, and faces, congregated around the screens in the celebration lounge to watch the conclusion to the Olympic Games.

Canadian Olympic Committee Chief Marketing Officer Derek Kent summed up the two weeks of celebration and pride at Canada Olympic House.

“As a hub for friends and family of our athletes, Canada Olympic House exceeded our expectations,” he said. “Every single day there has been incredible energy in the house …1,500 people walked the halls each day. Prince Harry the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, and Kim Cattrall from Sex and the City all visited. We had about 50 events in the House over two weeks, including 18 athlete medal celebrations. It has been amazing.”
