Canada Soccer reveals 2015 World Cup poster

With two matches left, the World Cup is winding down in Brazil and with each passing day, Canada gets closer to FIFA’s next marquee event this year, the Under-20 Women’s World Cup.

The U20 tournament – kicks off August 5 in Toronto – will begin a year of the spotlight being squarely on Canadian women’s soccer with the nation following up on the youth showcase with the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup next June.

On Thursday, Canada Soccer unveiled its official poster for #Canada2015 in Brazil ahead of this weekend’s final World Cup matches.

Canada Soccer explained the poster’s look in an official release:

With its warm colours, the official poster’s football and sun icon expresses positivity and ambition. The cascading shapes, meanwhile, evoke Canada’s breathtaking landscapes, expansive skies, towering mountains, rich green forests, vast lakes, powerful rivers and dynamic cityscapes. Together, this iconic imagery flows as the hair from a woman’s head, her proud expression exuding confidence, determination and freedom.
