WATCH: Timelapse of Rio 2016 Olympic Park construction
This week Canadian Olympic Committee President Marcel Aubut, 2016 Chef de Mission Jean-Luc Brassard, and other COC executives are in Brazil touring several sites for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
There have been reports that the venues might not be ready in time for the August 5, 2016 Opening Ceremony. However, according to Brassard everything seems to be progressing right on schedule.
On a conference call from Rio, Brassard said “We went through a lot of meetings, a lot of venue sites that just answered all of our deepest questions about whether they are going to be ready or not. They’re going to be ready, they’re going to be a great Games.”
Last week a Rio government organization called Cidade Olimpica released several videos showing the progress done on the Olympic Park in Rio. The first video shows the current state of the Park versus what was originally planned in the renderings.
The second video shows a cool timelapse of the construction.
