WATCH: Exploring the Rio 2016 Olympic Park, drone style

With less than six months to go, the Olympic Park is coming to life as Barra prepares for the arrival of Rio 2016.

On Monday, Rio de Janeiro City Hall released a video showing the progress of the Olympic Park located in Barra da Tijuca. The tour takes an ariel trip around the Olympic Park, inside some of the venues and through buildings under construction. From inside the Carioca Arenas that will host combat sports to the Olympic Tennis Centre, the video provides a sneak peak of what will become the hub of the Olympic Games.

Sports at Rio 2016

The Olympic Park will have the largest concentration of venues, hosting 23 sports including: aquatics, gymnastics, diving, basketball and track Cycling (just to name a few). With immense progress made since the last time we checked in on construction, we can’t wait to see Barra’s final transformation in August.
