Milano Cortina 2026: Team Canada at the end of Day 11
MILAN (February 17, 2026) – Day 11 at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games has come to a close. Here’s what you need to know.

SNOWBOARD
- The men’s snowboard slopestyle final has been advanced and will now take place on February 18 at 11:20 am.
- The women’s snowboard slopestyle final will now take place on February 18 at 2:30 pm.
FREESTYLE SKIING
- The women’s freestyle skiing aerials qualification and final have been moved to February 18 at 11am and 1pm, respectively.
- The men’s freestyle skiing aerials qualification and final have been moved to February 19 at 11am and 1pm, respectively.
TEAM CANADA DAY 11 MOMENTS:
CURLING
- The Canadian women’s curling team handed Sweden their first loss of the tournament with an 8-6 victory. The team currently sits tied for fourth in the standings alongside Korea.
- With a 9-5 win over Great Britain, Canada’s men’s curling team have officially qualified for the playoffs that will start on Day 13 (February 19).
- Both the women’s and men’s teams will face Italy on Day 12 (February 18)
FREESTYLE SKIING
- Dylan Deschamps (Quebec City, Que.) finished seventh in the men’s freeski big air, Canada’s best ever Olympic result in the event. The event made its Olympic debut at Beijing 2022, where Canadian Evan McEachran placed ninth.
HOCKEY
- Following today’s action, the stage is now set for Canada’s men’s hockey team’s quarterfinal match. The team will face Czechia on Day 12 (February 18).
SPEED SKATING – LONG TRACK
- Team Canada’s trio of Ivanie Blondin (Ottawa, Ont.), Valérie Maltais (Saguenay, Que.), and Isabelle Weidemann (Ottawa, Ont.) have successfully defended their Olympic title in the women’s team pursuit, taking gold at Milano Cortina 2026.
- No country has won back-to-back Olympic gold medals in the women’s team pursuit since Germany did it in 2006 and 2010.
- This is Maltais’ second medal of the Games, following her bronze in the women’s 3000m which was Team Canada’s first at Milano Cortina 2026. She now has four career Olympic medals, as does Weidemann, who adds to the three she won at Beijing 2022. For Blondin, it is a third career Olympic medal.
