Milano Cortina 2026: Team Canada at the end of Day 5

MILAN (February 11, 2026) – Day 5 at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games has come to a close. Here’s what you need to know.

TEAM CANADA’S CURRENT MEDAL COUNT:
GOLD: 0 | SILVER: 1 | BRONZE: 3

TEAM CANADA DAY 5 MOMENTS:

CURLING 

  • Team Canada’s men’s team, skipped by Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.), defeated Team Germany 7-6 in an extra end.
  • This was the first of nine round robin games for Canada. 

FIGURE SKATING

  • Piper Gilles (Toronto, Ont.) and Paul Poirier (Unionville, Ont.) won the bronze medal in ice dance. 
  • The four-time world championship medallists reached the podium for the first time in their third Olympic appearance together. 

LUGE

SNOWBOARD

  • Elizabeth Hosking (Longueuil, Que.) qualified for the women’s halfpipe finals, which will take place on Day 6 (February 12).
