Cameron Alexander

Biography

Cameron Alexander is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026.

Alexander won the bronze medal in the men’s downhill at the 2023 FIS World Championships. It was his first ever world championship race. During a downhill training run at the 2025 World Championships, he crashed and sustained a knee injury and had to undergo surgery to repair his ACL. He was ready to return to competition for the start of the 2025-26 season.

Alexander made his FIS World Cup debut in November 2019 in Lake Louise. He earned his first World Cup points when he finished 19th in the downhill in Wengen in January 2020. His first top 10 came in March 2020 in the downhill in Kvitfjell.

Alexander had just missed qualifying for Beijing 2022. A few weeks after those Games ended, Alexander earned his first World Cup podium and victory when he won the downhill in Kvitfjell in early March. He was the first Canadian to win a World Cup downhill in eight years.

Alexander earned third place finishes in the downhill in Bormio in back-to-back seasons (December 2023 and December 2024). In between, he was third in another downhill in Kvitfjell (February 2024). His fifth career World Cup podium was a third-place finish in the famed Kitzbuehel downhill in January 2025. He finished the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons ranked ninth in the World Cup downhill standings. His best World Cup results in the super-G are a trio of fifth-place finishes, most recently in January 2025 in Kitzbuehel.

As a member of the national development program, Alexander competed at the 2017 and 2018 FIS Junior World Championships, highlighted by a fifth-place performance in the super-G in 2018.

Alexander made his debut on the Nor-Am Cup circuit in 2014. His first career international victory was in a Nor-Am Cup downhill in December 2019 in Lake Louise.
