Biography

Laurie Blouin is an Olympic silver medallist, a two-time world champion, and a six-time medallist at the Winter X Games.

Blouin was a perfect example of perseverance at PyeongChang 2018. She overcame a hard crash in training and challenging wind conditions to win silver for Canada’s first Olympic medal in women’s slopestyle snowboard. She came close to earning another Olympic medal at Beijing 2022 as she finished fourth in slopestyle. She also placed eighth in big air during her second Olympic appearance.

Blouin first stunned the snowboard world at the 2017 FIS World Championships when she captured the slopestyle gold medal. It took a clutch second run for her to be crowned world champion by half a point. In the big air event, she posted the top score in qualifying before finishing sixth in the final. Blouin had previously been world junior champion in slopestyle four years earlier when she was just 16.

After finishing ninth in slopestyle at the 2019 World Championships, Blouin returned to the top of the podium at the 2021 Worlds, this time winning Canada’s first ever world title in women’s big air. She nailed a cab double 1080 indy on her third and final run clinch the victory. She came close to another world championship medal in 2023, finishing fourth in big air.

Blouin made her FIS World Cup debut at her home resort in Stoneham, Quebec in February 2012. Her first World Cup podium came when she finished second in slopestyle at the New Zealand Winter Games in August 2015. She claimed another World Cup silver at Seiser Alm, Italy in January 2017, helping her to finish in the top-10 of the season’s World Cup slopestyle standings. In 2019 she finished fifth in the World Cup big air standings thanks to a pair of podium performances.

In 2020, she finished second overall in the slopestyle standings after earning two podiums, including her first career World Cup victory in Calgary. Blouin earned three World Cup podiums during the 2021-22 season, including her second career victory, as she again finished second overall in the slopestyle standings. In January 2026, Blouin earned her third career World Cup victory—her first since March 2022—when she won the slopestyle event in Aspen. That was her 14th career World Cup podium.

Blouin made a splash in her Winter X Games debut in Aspen in 2019 when she won gold in the big air. She added a slopestyle silver at the 2020 X Games in Aspen, a big air bronze at the 2020 X Games in Oslo, and a slopestyle bronze at the 2021 X Games in Aspen, where she also finished fourth in big air. She added another slopestyle bronze in Aspen in 2022 and then won another big air bronze in 2023. She just missed the slopestyle podium in 2025, finishing fourth.
