Macklin Celebrini

Biography

Macklin Celebrini is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 as the youngest member of Team Canada’s men’s hockey team.

Celebrini debuted with the senior national team at the 2025 IIHF World Championship where he recorded three goals and three assists in eight games. The year before he played for Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. In 2023, he helped Canada win bronze at the IIHF World U18 Championship where he was the team’s top scorer with six goals and nine assists. In 2022, he played with Canada Black at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.

Celebrini was selected first overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He scored just seven minutes into his NHL debut on October 10, 2024. At the end of the season, he was a Calder Trophy finalist for Rookie of the Year.

Celebrini played for Boston University in 2023-24 alongside older brother Aiden. At 17, he became the youngest player to win the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA’s best men’s hockey player after recording 64 points (32 goals, 32 assists) in just 38 games as a freshman. He had spent the 2022-23 season with the Chicago Steel of the USHL, scoring the most points ever (86) by a player under the age of 17. He was the first player in USHL history to win Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Forward of the Year in the same season.
