Skylar Sieben

Biography

Skylar Sieben is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 as a bobsleigh brakewoman.

Sieben competed at her first IBSF World Championships in 2025, placing 11th in two-woman with pilot Cynthia Appiah.

Sieben made her international debut on the IBSF World Cup circuit during the 2024-25 season. In her first race in December 2024, she and Appiah finished 10th in Altenberg, Germany. In February 2025, she earned her first World Cup medal as she and Melissa Lotholz won bronze in Lillehammer. She was back in the top five in January 2026 when she and Appiah were fifth in Altenberg.

Sieben has a background in athletics. She represented Canada at the Naples 2019 FISU World University Games, finishing 12th in the heptathlon. While representing the University of Arizona, she competed in the heptathlon at the 2021 NCAA Championships and was a three-time All-Academic selection.

Getting into the Sport: Started in bobsleigh at age 24 upon the insistence of one of her track and field coaches at Arizona… Outside Interests: Graduated from the University of Arizona with her Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine in May 2024; her research focused on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in the small intestine… Enjoys playing pickleball, tennis, beach volleyball… Has a pet tortoise named Ashoka…
