Jennifer Abel wraps up FINA Diving World Cup with bronze medal

Canadian diver Jennifer Abel completed her FINA 2014 season on a strong note with a third place finish in the women’s 3m event on Sunday in Shanghai.

Second before the final round of dives, the 22-year-old had to equalize her best international score (364.05 pts) to secure a podium spot and Canada’s third medal of the competition.

China’s Shi Tingmao (383.40 pts) and He Zi (369.65 pts) took gold and silver respectively.

Abel’s synchro partner Pamela Ware also participated in the event ultimately taking fifth place.

Earlier in the week, the pair got the ball rolling for Canada winning silver on the 3m sychro boards. This was followed by a bronze medal performance courtesy of Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion on the 10m platform.
