With the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on the horizon and the Lima 2019 Pan American Games coming even sooner, Team Canada is always ready to take on the world. A mix of Olympic veterans and rising young stars make Canada poised to contend with the world’s best in many sports, including some which will be on the Olympic program for the very first time. Follow our athletes on their Olympic journey at #TeamCanada.

The world will return to Tokyo in 2020 for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad. It will be the fifth city, but the first in Asia, to host the Olympic Summer Games more than once, having previously welcomed the world’s best athletes in 1964. Some of those historic venues will once again host Olympic competition while new and temporary facilities will also be employed. All the traditional Olympic sports will be contested, but the events within many of them have been modified to push the Games closer to gender equality for the 11,000 athletes who will attend. These Games will also see the Olympic debuts of some exciting sports and events, such as 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle, skateboarding, sports climbing, and surfing.

By sharing our athletes’ stories, we inspire all Canadians through the power of sport. Follow the journey on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
