London Calling COC Executive Team

With just over a year to go before the Opening Ceremony, Canada is already planning for London 2012.

The Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC) senior executives were in the British capital this week to get a “lay of the land” ahead of next summer’s Games. The 10-person group consists of COC President Marcel Aubut, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General Jean R. Dupré, Chief Operating and Chief Marketing Officer Chris Overholt, Executive Managing Director of Sport & NSF Relations Caroline Assalian, Executive Director of Corporate and Brand Communications Derek Kent, Executive Director of Brand Marketing Dennis Kim, Executive Director of Marketing Partnerships Alyson Walker, Director of NSF Services Ian Moss, Director of Team Operations for London 2012 Betty Dermer-Norris, and Mark Tewksbury, Canada’s Chef de Mission for the 2012 Games.

During the six-day visit, the executive team have had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the host city, as well as discuss important details and logistics related to next year’s Olympic Games with London 2012 organizers, while further promoting the Canadian Olympic Team. Among the highlights, the group toured the competition venues and conducted several meetings and working sessions with London officials. They also took part in Canada Day celebrations in Trafalgar Square, along with the High Commissioner for Canada, The Honourable James R. Wright.
