Five years ago, Canada played host to the world and did not disappoint.

In addition to the Vancouver 2010 Games themselves being a huge success, Team Canada’s athletes also set several new records.

Canada won gold from 14 events in Vancouver, which now stands as the most won by a country at a Olympic Winter Games. It was the first time since Oslo 1952 that the host nation won the most gold medals. Vancouver is also Canada’s most successful Winter Games ever for total medals – 26 (14 gold, 7 silver, 5 bronze).
