How Team Canada fans can get tickets to Rio 2016
Rio 2016 tickets are now open to Canadians.
On Friday morning, CoSport – Team Canada’s authorised ticket reseller for the Olympic Games – launched package sales and individual ticket requests.
The packages that are available right now include tickets to select events and hotel stay from three to five nights. These packages can be purchased straight away without any wait. Airfare is not included, however, Air Canada did recently introduce non-stop flights to Rio.

Fans wishing to make their own accommodations in Rio can request individual event tickets during the first window. These tickets can start for as little as $24.87 (Cdn. based on May 1 exchange rate) for women’s football, for example.
Request individual tickets (before May 5, 2015 at 5 p.m. ET)
Some key dates:
- Individual ticket requests close very quickly from launch on May 5 (at 5 p.m. ET).
- Six days later on May 11, individual ticket request confirmations will be made. That will give fans a chance to purchase the tickets they’ve requested.
- May 15 is the deadline to pay for the requested tickets.
On May 19, all remaining individual tickets go on sale.
UPDATE (June 3, 2015)
A second request phase was implemented instead of May 19 public sale (details here).
Additional information:
- Team Canada fans can create a CoSport account in order to purchase packages online or to make their individual ticket requests.
- Prices are available in the ‘Competition Schedule’ tab of the tickets page.
