Colton Parayko

Biography

Colton Parayko is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 after helping Canada win the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off.

Parayko made his first international appearance as a member of Canada West at the 2011 World Junior A Challenge, winning the gold medal. He competed with Team North America, comprised of Canadian and American players aged 23 and under, at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Parayko debuted with the senior national team at the 2017 IIHF World Championship where Canada won silver after a shootout loss to Sweden in the final. He was named to the tournament’s All-Star Team. Parayko was part of fourth place finishes at the IIHF World Championship in 2018 and 2024.

Parayko won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. He was selected in the third round, 86th overall, by St. Louis in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 2015-16 season and was named to the All-Rookie Team. He was named an assistant captain in December 2020.

He played junior hockey with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the AJHL and competed in the 2011 Junior Club World Cup.

Parayko played collegiately at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He served as the Nanooks team captain in 2015 and was a two-time WHCA Defensive Player of the Year, Conference All-Star, and Second Team All-American.
