Mia Vallée

Biography

Mia Vallée had a most impressive debut at the World Aquatics Championships in 2022. She won bronze in the non-Olympic 1m springboard event and silver in the 3m springboard. That made her the first Canadian woman to win multiple individual diving medals at one world championship. 

A month later, she won three medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, claiming 1m springboard gold as well as bronze medals in the 3m springboard and 3m synchro events, teaming with Margo Erlam in the latter. Those accomplishments led to her being named Diving Plongeon Canada’s Female Athlete of the Year. 

In 2023, Vallée competed in her first World Aquatics Diving World Cup. She teamed with Pamela Ware to win 3m synchro bronze. At the 2023 World Aquatics Championships, Vallée and Ware placed fifth in 3m synchro, missing the podium by less than two points. A few weeks later, they won 3m synchro silver at the Diving World Cup Super Final. 

Vallée made her first international appearance on the Diving Grand Prix circuit in 2016 when she was just 15. She has seven career Grand Prix medals, including two gold. 

Vallée competed collegiately for the University of Miami. As a junior in 2022, she won the 1m springboard national title with an NCAA Championships record score of 365.75. She represented Canada at the 2019 Universiade where she finished fourth in the 3m springboard and 3m synchro events.
