Biography

Tom Wilson is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026. His only previous international experience came in 2011 when he won gold with Team Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament following a gold medal with Team Ontario at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.

Wilson won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018. He was drafted in the first round, 16th overall, by Washington in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 2013 playoffs before his regular season debut the following season. He became an alternate captain of the Capitals in 2023. He hit a career high of 65 points (33 goals, 32 assists) during the 2024-25 season.

Wilson played junior hockey with the Plymouth Whalers. In 2013 he played with the OHL All-Stars in the Canada/Russia Super Series.

His wife, Taylor (née Pischke), represented Team Canada in beach volleyball at the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
