Repeat Olympic champions Humphries and Moyse named flag bearers

Canada’s queens of the bobsleigh, Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse will carry the maple leaf into Fisht Olympic Stadium at the Sochi 2014 Closing Ceremony.

Humphries and Moyse are two-time Olympic gold medallists in 2-man bobsleigh. Here in Sochi as CAN-1, they came from behind for the win, beating American rival Elana Meyers on runs three and four. They are the first women to defend an Olympic gold medal in bobsleigh.

A native of Summerside, P.E.I., Moyse returned from hip surgery just over a year ago in order to compete at these Games. Together, they won three World Cup races this season.

The last dual Closing Ceremony flag bearers were Jamie Salé and David Pelletier at Salt Lake City 2002.
