Wickenheiser’s star set to keep on rising

Hayley Wickenheiser is one of the greatest ice hockey players of all time, has enough accolades to fill several rooms and now she can add a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame to her list of honours.

The four-time Olympic women’s ice hockey champion, five-time Olympic medallist, six-time Olympian (Winter & Summer Games), and Canada’s flag bearer at Sochi 2014 was officially named to be a recipient of the star on Tuesday, along with a list of illustrious Canadians in various fields announced here.

While at Sochi, Wickenheiser was elected to the International Olympic Committee’s Athletes Commission.

Her star will be unveiled in Toronto on October 18.

A year ago another Olympic medallist and icon of Canadian sport, Christine Sinclair, received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
