Canada reveals its national women’s hockey team for Sochi

Hockey Canada revealed the 21 names on its National Women’s Team for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games on Monday.

The three goaltenders are Shannon Szabados, Geneviève Lacasse and Charline Labonté.

On defence the team will take Jocelyne Larocque, Lauriane Rougeau, Laura Fortino, Meaghan Mikkelson, Catherine Ward and Tara Watchorn to Sochi.

The 12 forwards on the team are Meghan Agosta-Marciano, Rebecca Johnston, Jennifer Wakefield, Gillian Apps, Caroline Ouellette, Mélodie Daoust, Jayna Hefford, Brianne Jenner, Haley Irwin, Hayley Wickenheiser, Natalie Spooner and Marie-Philip Poulin.

The Olympic roster was announced in Calgary on Monday morning, six days after Kevin Dineen was hired as coach.
