Duenas leads Canada’s archery team named for Pan Am Games
With six of them in its quiver – if you will – Archery Canada named its athletes to Team Canada for Toronto 2015 Pan American Games on Friday.
Two-time Olympian Crispin Duenas will be the man to watch when the archers draw at Varsity Stadium in Toronto. At the last World Archery Championships in 2013, Duenas finished third in the men’s recurve event – a best-ever result by a Canadian.
Recently Duenas told Olympic.ca about the “drive for perfection” that takes him to the shooting range, to stand on one spot for hours over several years to become a better archer. He stressed the mental aspect of his sport, which he feels is the most difficult to master.

Duenas shoots Canadian archery to new heights
Joining Duenas on the men’s archery team is fellow Olympian Jason Lyon and returning Pan Am Games shooter Patrick Rivest-Bunster.
The women’s team is made up of Pan Am Games debutants Georcy-Stephanie Thiffeault Picard, Virginie Chenier and Kateri Vrakking.
Duenas is the only team member with an individual Pan Am medal, winning silver in the last edition. He’ll certainly be aiming for gold when the event happens in his hometown July 14-18 (get tickets).
