Fay De Fazio Ebert

Biography

Fay De Fazio Ebert won the gold medal in the women’s park event at Santiago 2023 where skateboarding was included at the Pan American Games for the first time. 

She qualified to make her Olympic debut at Paris 2024 via the World Skateboarding Rankings, which included her appearance in the semifinals at the first leg of the Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai in May 2024. At 14 years old, she became Canada’s youngest Olympic team member since 1976. 

After debuting at World Skate World Championships in 2019 where she was the youngest athlete in the field, De Fazio Ebert advanced to the women’s park quarterfinals at the 2022 World Championships. She missed out on the semifinals by just two spots. 

De Fazio Ebert entered her first big competition at age nine, the Montreal stop of the Vans Park Series in July 2019 where she reached the semifinals. She debuted on the Dew Tour in 2021 and in 2022 won her first career competition at the 7Gen All Terrain in Vancouver. She made her first appearance on the World Skate Tour in 2023. 

De Fazio Ebert was a double medallist at the 2020 Canadian Championships, taking silver and bronze in park and street, respectively. 

A Little More About Fay

Getting into the Sport: Started skateboarding in March 2018 when she was 8 years old… After the first time she tried it, she was so enthralled her parents took her to buy her first skateboard that afternoon… Began competing in small local Toronto contests, mostly against boys who were older than her… Outside Interests: Enjoys drawing, animating, cross-country running, playing games with younger brother Adrian… Odds and Ends: Always has a duck feather from her duck, Richard, in her helmet for contests… Always travels with her ukulele…
