Heidi-Northcott_600Heidi Northcott’s career highlight was pitching a no-hitter against the Netherlands at the 2014 IBAF World Cup. Canada won the game 11-0 in five innings, of which Northcott pitched the first four, recording five strikeouts, before handing off to Cindy Saavedra. At the 2012 World Cup, Northcott earned a win in a relief appearance against Cuba, allowing one run over two innings as Canada went on to win the bronze medal at home in Edmonton.

Family: Parents Harold and Barb Northcott… Her father played for (1980-87) and coached (1992-2001) the men’s national baseball team… Older brothers Dustin and Chad played baseball at Northwestern State University… Getting into the Sport: Started playing baseball at age 6, following her older brothers and drawn by her dad’s passion for the game… Has wanted to play for Team Canada since being named the top pitcher at the 2004 PeeWee Nationals when she was 12… Outside Interests: Graduated from the University of British Columbia-Okanagan in June 2015 with a Bachelor of Science (major in Biology-Physiology and minor in Psychology)… Enjoys yoga, biking, tennis, hiking, weight lifting, skiing… Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “If you can’t outplay them, outwork them”…  Always travels with her pillow… Nickname: Heids
