Divers claim Canada’s first medal

It was Jennifer Abel and Emilie Heymans who delivered Canada’s first medal of the London 2012 Olympic Games in 3m synchro diving at the Aquatics Centre Sunday.

“I’m so excited for Emilie and Jennifer,” said Canadian Olympic Team’s Chef de Mission Mark Tewksbury. “It’s an amazing inspiration to win Canada’s first medal on Day 2.”

The result for Heymans, 30, makes her the first female diver to medal in four consecutive Olympic Games.
