In 2012, Eric Gillis returned to the Olympic Games for the second consecutive time in his career. In London, he placed 22nd in the men’s marathon.
Dylan Wykes competed at his first Olympic Games in 2012 and finished 20th in the men’s marathon. Wykes qualified for the London Games by running a personal best at the Rotterdam Marathon in the Netherlands and posted a time of two hours, 10 minutes, 47 seconds. It was the second fastest marathon time ever posted by a Canadian.
In her first Olympic Games, Tera Van Beilen had a top-10 finish in the 100m breaststroke. She also competed in the 200m breaststroke finishing 21st and was a member of the 4x100m medley that finished in 12th place, along with Julia Wilkinson, Katherine Savard and Samantha Cheverton.
