TORONTO (October 29, 2025) – With 100 days to go until Milano Cortina 2026, today the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and CBC/Radio-Canada officially launched their “Brave is Unbeatable” campaign for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
This is the second iteration of “Brave is Unbeatable,” which ran ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and the first featuring winter athletes. The campaign aims to inspire Canadians by showcasing the incredible stories of Team Canada athletes and their unpredictable, often challenging paths to the Olympic Games. “Brave is Unbeatable” portrays Canada as a resilient and unflappable nation, and aims to build energy and excitement as Canadians across the country rally together to support Team Canada at Milano Cortina 2026.
“Brave is Unbeatable” primarily features 14 Team Canada athletes, including:
- Cynthia Appiah (Toronto, Ont./Bobsleigh)
- Jack Crawford (Toronto, Ont./Alpine Skiing)
- Sidney Crosby (Cole Harbour, N.S./Ice Hockey)
- William Dandjinou (Montreal, Que./Speed Skating – Short Track)
- Piper Gilles (Toronto, Ont./Figure Skating)
- Liam Gill (Calgary, Alta./Snowboard)
- Eliot Grondin (Sainte-Marie, Que./Snowboard)
- Mikaël Kingsbury (Deux-Montagnes, Que./Freestyle Skiing)
- Paul Poirier (Unionville, Ont./Figure Skating)
- Marie-Philip Poulin (Beauceville, Que./Ice Hockey)
- Sonjaa Schmidt (Whitehorse, Y.T./Cross-Country Skiing)
- Cassie Sharpe (Comox, B.C./Freestyle Skiing)
- Marion Thénault (Sherbrooke, Que./Freestyle Skiing)
- Isabelle Weidemann (Ottawa, Ont./Speed Skating – Long Track)
The campaign is narrated by two Canadians whose stories of success, bravery and resilience in the face of adversity have inspired the country: in English by seven-time Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse, and in French by the Rwandan-Canadian artist Corneille.
The campaign was conceived and executed in conjunction with The Hive, an agency based in both Montreal and Toronto. The campaign is led by the inspirational 60-second film “What We Don’t See,” directed by Hubert Davis, an Academy Award-nominated Canadian filmmaker known for his work on the documentaries Black Ice and Giants of Africa.
The campaign also features six supplementary shorts, as well as out-of-home, digital, experiential, social media and print executions, which will be rolled out over the coming weeks in the lead up to and during the Games.

QUOTES:
“Representing Team Canada at the Olympic Games is the greatest honour athletes can experience in their career. It’s such a pride to represent your country, especially ours. I am a proud Canadian and when I ski, I want to do it in honour of the people of my country.” – Mikaël Kingsbury, Freestyle Skiing – Moguls
“For me, ‘Brave is Unbeatable’ is defined by all we do when there are no cameras turned at us. It is the work we do in the shadows, the doubts that sometimes creep in, but that we overcome to represent our country at our best on the world scene. It’s the courage of not abandoning and to go beyond.” – Marie-Philip Poulin, Ice Hockey
“I’m proud to be part of a campaign that shows the real side of what it takes to compete — the doubts, the setbacks, and the courage to keep going. That’s what being brave is all about.” – Andre De Grasse, seven-time Olympic medallist, voice of Brave Is Unbeatable in English
“We’re so grateful these incredible athletes shared their stories with us and with the country. I’m certain that Canadians from coast to coast to coast will be inspired by their bravery, their resilience, and their Olympic spirit. I hope Canadians will rally behind Team Canada ahead of these Olympic Games, and that we all feel the unique power sport has to transform this country.” – Jacqueline Ryan, Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of the COC and CEO of the Canadian Olympic Foundation
